Aftercare

 Tattoo Aftercare

  1. Remove bandage in 1 hour.
  2. Wash tattoo thoroughly with cool water & mild soap. Rinse  and massage away the slimy feel, then gently pat dry.
  3. Allow 15 minutes in the open air before applying an ultra-thin layer of Aquaphor then wipe away any excess with your hand. do this 4-5 times a day. the more you wash, the better you heal.
  4. Do not allow the tattoo to dry out, Keep it only as moist as your normal skin. do not rub, scratch, pick or peel your tattoo. this will result in scabbing & loss of color.
  5. Always wash your hands & your tattoo before applying Aquaphor.
  6. Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight for 4 weeks. use an SPF 50+ when in sun after healing. if tanning, cover the tattoo completely--every time!
  7. The tattoo will lightly flake like a sunburn, after this time switch to a water based lotion until the tattoo is no longer glossy.
  8. Contact the studio & your doctor if you think you have an infection. symptoms: broad red border surrounding the tattoo, red lines radiating away from the tattoo & excessive oozing & formation of pus pockets.

 Piercing Aftercare

  1. In the shower: wash the piercing after you have cleaned your hair & body. turn the jewelry while rinsing to insure no soap residue remains.
  2.  Clean the piercing with saline solution 6-8 times during the day.
  3. Do not touch the piercing except when showering, the less you touch it, the better it will be.
  4. This is an open wound in the body, treat it as such. take care to prevent anything from entering the piercing (lint, others’ bodily fluids, whatever)
